12/8/2020 Can I Run Ios Apps On A Mac
The only way you can run an app available on the App Store is on an iOS device. The iOS Simulator is available along-with Xcode (developer tool to develop apps for various Apple hardware devices). You can build and run an app in iOS simulator only if you have access to the source code for the app (generally personal or open-source projects). New iOS versions, like iOS 12 or 13, aren’t supported on it. So if you try to run your app on an iPhone with iOS 13, you’ll get a warning that it can’t install on that device. Luckily there is a really simple fix thanks to this awesome repository on Github. 19 hours ago TechCrunch - Apple announced today its new Apple Silicon Macs would be capable of running a wider range of apps than before, even in the case where an iOS developer hasn’t released a Mac-compatible version of their mobile experience. The company said MacOS Big Sur would support universal apps, which include the. Converting iOS apps to also run on Mac will take effort on the part of app developers, who will have to make many decisions about how their apps display on macOS devices. (This is why, should. Native Mac apps built with Mac Catalyst can share code with your iPad apps, and you can add more features just for Mac. In macOS Big Sur, you can create even more powerful versions of your apps and take advantage of every pixel on the screen by running them at native Mac resolution. Apps built with Mac Catalyst can now be fully controlled using just the keyboard, access more iOS.

Do I need a Mac to make iPhone apps? Apple Watch apps? Mac apps? The short answer is no. But there's a lot more to it than just that.
When making apps for an Apple device (phone, watch, computer) you need to use Xcode. A free piece of software created by Apple that allows you to design and code up apps. Xcode only works on Apple's operating system OS X. So if you have a Mac, then you can run Xcode no problem. https://furnitureclever682.weebly.com/sopcast-mac-app-store.html. If you don't have a Mac, there are two work arounds that I know of that you can use. So in total there are three ways you can run Xcode. https://furnitureclever682.weebly.com/delete-default-apps-mac-termina.html. Here's my thoughts on each of them.
1. Using a Mac
This is by far the best option. Using apple's hardware to run Xcode is going to be your best experience for making apps. You might not have a Mac though and buying one can be expensive. I remember when I wanted to first buy a Mac and couldn't get over the price tag. The MacBook I was looking to buy cost $1,200. A PC with similar parts (RAM, CPU, HardDrive, etc..) cost only $400. Three times the money for a stinking Apple logo! In retrospect, the money was well worth it.
If you are interested in going this route and buying a computer, check out my Mac Buying Guide for developers.
Also be on the lookout of place where you could use a Mac for free. Maybe your library has a machine you can use.
2. Using a Cloud Service
This is my second favorite option. It's a really creative solution for helping people make apps who don't have Macs. There are few companies that own a bunch of Mac computers and allow you to access them via the web and control them remotely. It's kind of like renting a Mac month to month. All you need is a web browser to access your machine. The downside to this is you have to pay a monthly fee and you must be connected to the internet to do your work. Here are links to two companies that do this: macincloud.com and xcodeclub.com
3. Virtual Machine
This option involves creating a virtual machine on your computer, installing Apple's OS X operating system, and then running Xcode on that virtual machine. I don't like this option for two reasons.
If you got the budget for it, buy a Mac. I know it's crazy expensive but I believe you'll fall in love with your Mac. If you end up using a cloud service, let me know in the comments what your experience has been. I'd love to hear more.

Since Apple Silicon Macs will have the same processors as iPhone and iPad, Apple will let users download and install iOS apps on these Macs even if the developer doesn’t offer a specific version of the app for macOS.

Key point is the idea that you might have a choice between an Intel-built app running in some form of emulation on an Apple Silicon Mac or an iOS app running natively.
Although by default all iOS apps are available on the Mac App Store for Apple Silicon, the company is allowing developers to opt their iOS apps out of the new unified store.
And there’s the rub. According to this post, not all iOS apps will be available on the new Macs.
If you were expecting to watch YouTube on your new Mac with a native app, you’re out of luck. Google has chosen not to offer most of its apps on the Apple Silicon platform, and this also includes Google Maps, Google Drive, and Gmail apps. On the other hand, the Netflix app for iOS is still on track to be available on new Macs, as well as the HBO Max app.
This is life on a new platform. But over time, older Mac apps will either fade away, or rebuild for the new hardware. Over time, you’ll have all native apps, one way or the other.
Same as it ever was.
